וַיָּ֤שֶׂם בֶּֽאֱדוֹם֙ נְצִיבִ֔ים וַיִּהְי֥וּ כָל־אֱד֖וֹם עֲבָדִ֣ים לְדָוִ֑יד וַיּ֤וֹשַׁע יְהוָה֙ אֶת־דָּוִ֔יד בְּכֹ֖ל אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָלָֽךְ׃

E pôs guarnições em Edom, e todos os edomeus ficaram sujeitos a Davi; e o SENHOR dava vitória a Davi, por onde quer que ia.

And he placed governors - Heb. נְצִיבִים, governors, because he did not wish to set up a king to reign over them.
